I was born in Piraeus on September 15, 1969. In 1987 I graduated from the 32nd High School of Athens, while a year later I was admitted through the Panhellenic Examinations to the Medical Department of the Military School of Officer Corps (SSAS). It is a School that provides both military and Medical training, which is covered entirely by the School of Medicine of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH).
After graduation, I was assigned to the Artillery Training Center (GTC), to offer my Medical services.
Specialization in General Surgery began in 2000 at the 401 General Hospital, continued in 2002 at the Konstantopoulio General Hospital of Nea Ionia and was completed in 2006, where after successful written and oral exams I received the Specialty of General Surgeon. Since then, I have offered my services as a General Surgeon in various positions (496 General Hospital of Didymoteicho, 417 National Institute of Medical Sciences, 401 General Hospital), while in the private sector, I have collaborated from time to time with many clinics, while in the last year exclusively with the Medical Center of Paleo Faliro.
In June 2014, I was sworn in as a Doctor of Medicine at the University of Athens School of Medicine, having successfully completed my Doctoral Thesis on the study of the effect of bacterial allostasis on the postoperative course and long-term prognosis of patients with colon cancer.
In recent years I have focused my interest in Advanced Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery.
Thus, I have participated in laparoscopic courses at the IRCAD Institute in Strasbourg, while in 2014 I completed my one-year specialization in Advanced Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery, which took place at the Advanced Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery Unit of the 1st Preparatory Surgery Clinic at the “Ippokratio” General Hospital of Athens, under Professor Mr. Emmanuel Leandros.
I am a regular member of the Hellenic Surgical Society (HES), the Hellenic Society for Endoscopic Surgery (HSES) and the European Association for Endoscopic Surgery (EAES).
Additionally, and within the framework of continuing education, I do not neglect the theoretical part of Surgical Science, by participating in oral and written presentations, in publications and by attending important Conferences.
Finally, my free time is dedicated almost entirely to my family, while I try to relieve the stress of tiring everyday life by engaging in long-distance running (marathon, ultramarathon, mountain running).
